A little about Instructor Dalia Vitkus...
Dalia Vitkus/Taekwondo Instructor/Owner New Wave Kicks
Born in Chicago, Dalia Vitkus grew up in a rough neighborhood where challenging situations were a way of life. Through those challenges, she found Taekwondo as a way to achieve inner peace with physical self-defense as a bonus!
Along with her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Dalia has achieved 3rd Degree Black Belt; is certified with the World Taekwondo Federation, and as an Instructor. She has trained with world renowned Martial Artists including Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, Senior Grandmaster Edward B. Sell and Senior Grandmaster Brenda Sell of the U.S. Chung Do Kwan, Assoc. ; locally with Chief Master Darwin Eisenhart, Grandmaster Al Smith and Chief Master Rick Jipping. Recently, she was inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame and received an award as Leading Female Black Belt of the Year, in recognition for her accomplishments as a dedicated Martial Artist and bullying prevention program.
Dalia’s instruction focuses on SELF defense for life: Strength, Encouragement, Learning and Fitness. This incorporates strengthening balance, coordination and fitness for a healthy mind, body and spirit; thereby reducing stress, promoting inner peace and empowering one to succeed in life.
She brings the unique and exciting Superfoot System of Martial Art instruction, which includes traditional Taekwondo and kickboxing to the New Wave Kicks Studio, located at 2907 Division, St. Joseph, MI. These well-developed disciplines provide positive skills for students of all ages. Children benefit from the discipline this Martial Art brings not only physically, but in their lives, as grades and behavior improve! Adults acquire physical skills in balance and coordination, while reducing stress and learning the art of self-defense of one self and others.
Her passions include self-defense for women, senior citizens, working with children of all ages and family Taekwondo. In fact, as a board member with the Hey U.G.L.Y. (Unique Gifted Lovable You) organization, she is dedicated to bullying prevention, building self-esteem and positive growth with the youth and adults of today, which is also part of the New Wave Kicks Martial Art program.
